Review of the 2017 Chrysler 200

200 chrysler 2016 review

The 2017 Chrysler 200 is looking quite magnanimous this year with an all new look for the interior and exterior design. The 2016 model played it a little bit safe by adding a few more features and power but the 2017 truly feels like a true successor to the 2014 Chrysler 200. Chrysler offers 4 versions of the 200 that are available to its customers, the 4 door sedan LX FWD, the 4 door sedan S FWD/AWD and 4 door sedan C FWD/AWD.

Performance

There are two engines available with the Chrysler 200, the 3.6 liter V6 engine and the 2.4 liter tiger shark engine that was also available in the 2016 versions. The l4 Tiger Shark engine is capable of producing 184 Horse power with torque of about 173 pounds. Expect to get about 23 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway, this is just in line with cars in its competitive range. They offer a 9 speed automatic gear box with a drive terrain of front wheel drive.

The S versions and the C versions spot the 3.6 liter pentastar engine that produce torque of 262 pounds and 295 horse power with a similar 9 speed gear box. Fuel consumption on these models is a little bit more aggressive, so you should expect to get 18 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highways. The convertible version should line up with pretty much the same engine options as those of the sedans.

Exterior

Ever since its introduction back in 2009 Chrysler have always made the 200 cars with a look of elegance and a hint of speed. The front grill has both a trapezoidal shape and air intake. The dimensions of this mid-size sedan is pretty standard coming in at 192.3 inches length by 73.3 inches width and a height of 58.7 inches. The 2017 Chrysler 200 isn’t particularly heavy with a combined weight of 3488 pounds. The colors that you can pick from are velvet red pearl coat, bright white clear coat, granite crystal metallic coat and billet silver metallic coat.

Interior

The moment that you get into the Chrysler 200 interior, you’ll have a great appreciation of value for money, simply put the interior looks lovely and quite premium. The cabin was designed by maestro Cristian Farcas and it shows. The upholstery is made of fine leather and the front seats are quite comfortable. The cloth interior can be had in either black linen premium cloth or just black cloth. Front heated seats are also an option for the 200 S models.

The 2017 Chrysler 200 always feels like a smart because there are warnings for every time your too close to a another object or to make you aware of your blind spots. Rounding up the interior is a soon roof option, 9 speakers, Bluetooth connectivity and a rear camera.

Price

Expect the 2017 Chrysler 200 to cost about $22,000 with basic options and the S and C versions to cost about $ 29,000.

It’s rare to see this level of attention to detail in a cars in the mid-price region. It’s definitely worth a look if it’s within your budget.
